In SAP Business One, you can control the file formats that can be attached to documents using a feature called Block Executable Attachments. This feature is designed to enhance security and reduce the risks associated with attachments that may potentially carry threats, such as malware, malicious scripts, or executable files, like those with extensions .exe, .bat, .adp, and others.
To activate the Block Executable Attachments feature, a superuser can access it through the menu: Administration – System Initialization – General Settings – Path Tab. Check the “Block Executable Attachments” option, then click the Browse button next to it, which will open the Block List Selection window to specify the file formats you want to block or allow.
In the Block List Selection window, there are up to 120 file formats that can be selected for permission or blocking, depending on your needs. Superusers can update the selected file formats and also unblock specific file formats as required.
